Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
